Token
A word fragment that AI models use to process text. 'Programming' gets split into 2–3 tokens, and the AI reads those fragments instead of whole words. Each token costs money, like old-school calling cards billed in units, except the units come in different sizes. Count tokens and you can estimate what your GTM team's AI usage will cost.
Example
A 500-word sales email might use ~700 tokens. If your AI tool charges per token, that's how costs add up across thousands of outbound messages.
